Dear Lin,

I have thought about writing a letter to you for several years, ever since I spotted 
The Art of Painting Animals on Rocks at the library several years ago. I was so intrigued by the step-by-step instructions to rock painting in your book, that I checked out the book and started painting rock portraits of my two cats that night. The cats (I thought at the time, anyway) turned out so well, that I couldn't stop thinking of my next project. Well, it's been 3 years and literally hundreds of rock animals later, and I now consider myself an artist -- something I never would have claimed before! I have my rocks in several area stores and I'm constantly receiving word-of-mouth orders for more rocks. In addition, I have started painting on flat surfaces as well! I was even able to quit my part-time job due to my rock-painting proceeds. Your book and the challenge of creating more and more interesting and realistic rocks has taught me so much about creating depth, using shading and general painting technique. Again, thank you so much for your books and your generosity in sharing your talent and experience.

I wrote to you a couple of years ago, to thank you for sharing your fabulous talent. I now own all your books and look forward to the pets one coming out in the Fall. I paint regularly now and sell the rocks as quickly as I can finish them. I never dreamed I would sell these rocks, I just needed a craft to do and stumbled across your first book at the library. I participate in a craft sale every November and am still trying to finish up orders I took at the sale this past November!

People love my rocks and I enjoy the attention and the extra money I make. Deep down, I give you the credit though - your books have made this possible for me. While I'm now able to paint from any picture or photograph, I still use your books for guidance.

I'm excited to have found your web site and have bookmarked it. Again, thank you sooooo much for sharing this lovely talent.
