If you’ve wondered why the Rock Art Newsletters have been so few and so far between in the past year, there is a reason. My 50+ year-old brain was grappling with learning to use a design and layout program that would allow me to put together my own books! Sophisticated software has made publishing more accessible. The new program certainly came along at just the right time for me.
I was ready to tackle new challenges, and believe me, writing and then editing and composing the pages for an entire books is quite a challenge! But once I got past wanting to pull out my hair and throw the computer off the deck behind my house, it turned out to be an extremely empowering experience. I could get an idea for something to add to a chapter, and within half an hour I could have a digital photo taken, resized and slipped into place on the page of a virtual book! 
How cool is that??

The result is a 96-page, full color book called Rock Painting Fun for Everyone! published by my own company, ArtStone Press. For years I have known that there was a need for a ‘sampler’ type book for rock painters. At book signings people would ask me which of my books would be best for a beginner. I tried to include at least a few very basic projects in every book so that new painters could experience success right away. But what if they weren’t sure they would rather paint flowers or animals or cottages or some other subject? Rock Painting Fun for Everyone! solves that problem by offering very easy and accessible projects geared to beginners and with enough variety that they will be able to discover for themselves which subjects they enjoy painting most. Advanced painters can use the projects as inspiration for their own, more elaborate variations.
I have been very grateful for the feedback I have gotten from readers over the years. You told me you loved to look at imaginative photos and that you liked having lots of ‘more ideas’ rocks to inspire you. I incorporated both of those elements into this book. I also made a point of adding suggestions for paint color choices and other tips to the inspiration rocks so that people who wanted to try their own versions would have a starting point.

One thing that I did not change was making sure that there were plenty of clear color photos to guide the reader through every step of the creation process. My goal is to help everyone discover that they have some measure of talent and give them the means to develop that talent.
The book has 10 chapters and more than 15 step-by-step projects and patterns.
